My Favorite Destination
I love the winding streets of Camagüey, sometimes it feels like you’re walking through a maze and you never know what will be around the next corner. Its rumored that the city layout was developed with the intention of being confusing, a way to slow down pirates and pillagers! I’m not sure if that’s true but it’s an interesting story.

My Best Experience
Doing the pilgrimage to Cobre Sanctuary, the most important religious site on the island. A miraculous statue of the Virgin of Charity, Cuba’s patron saint, sits here. I left an offering at the shrine which was a very special experience for me. The Virgin is loved all over Cuba. Ernest Hemingway offered his Nobel Prize medal to the shrine.
