My Favorite Destination
For me, nothing really comes close to my home city of Havana. The Old Quarter is amazing, and demands at least a day of exploring, but it’s the backstreets that truly have my heart. The colors, music and atmosphere found here is what makes Havana a truly great capital. I’m yet to encounter another city with an energy that comes close to that of Havana’s.
My Best Experience
The first time I visited Callejón de Hamel was very special for me. Although I had grown up with Afro-Cuban culture all around me, it was incredible to see such a vibrant celebration of it. I watched an unforgettable rumba performance; the music was charged with a contagious energy and ever since I’ve been a huge rumba fan.
