My Favorite Destination
I’m a big fan of Holguin, which very few people take the time to visit. It feels like a very authentic part of Cuba, not at all dressed up or packaged for tourists. There are lots of parks, ideal for people-watching, and the hill Loma de la Cruz provides views of the whole city. At the end of the day, you can kick back with a beer from the local brewery.
My Best Experience
My best experience is probably the time I spent in Holguin. I stayed there for a couple of weeks and really got a chance to get to know the city and the people who live in it. Everyone was so friendly and I learned a lot about the everyday life of Cubans. I’m a big believer that a place is only as great as its people – Holguin’s got some of the best.
